Welcome!

WELCOME to the Small Book Blog! I am a voracious reader. I love losing myself in books and cannot wait to read myself into my next adventure. It is because of this love for books that I created this blog. I want to share my passion of books with you! I hope you enjoy my recommendations and reviews. My goal is that they will lead you to a new book, series or author, that you can fall in love with and recommend to others as well.

Reveal it!

What’s everyone reading? Finished up with? Searching or pining for? Reveal and share (please)!
I decided to try out the ya Trylle series by Amanda Hocking. So far it’s good. It’s keeping me engaged. I just finished The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis. She was a new author for me & recommended to me by my mother in law. Sadly I have not made it to the library for a new audio book. I love listening to those during my daily work commutes. Hopefully I can get to the library soon.
Another reveal for me is: I am so excited to go and see The Hunger Games at the theater this weekend! I sent my hubby out to get our tickets early so we don’t have to stand in line forever, panicking they might run out of tickets for the show time we want. I devoured the book series. I just hope they do a fantastic job on the movie, create a worthy tribute for the book. Anyone else going to see this movie? Loved the books?

  1. It's interesting that you mention author Jill Shalvis. I recently submitted a request to purchase one of her books to my local library. I just got the email back that they aren't going to, so I'm a bit disappointed. I tend to not buy too many books these days. Most books I check out of the library. However, I did just buy Anne Bishop's new Emphemera series novel, Bridge of Dreams. She is my favorite author, and any time a new book by her comes out, I buy it! Before I read it, I am re-reading the first 2 books in that series, Sebastian and Belladonna. I think her Black Jewels trilogy is the best of what she's written, but I think they are all fabulous!

I hope you enjoy Hunger Games. I read the first 2 books of the series, and then my interest waned. I hope to hear what you think of the movie! I anticipate seeing the movie, but I usually go at least a week after the opening, and to a weekend matinee so the crowds aren't as big.

  2. I can't imagine not reading at least part of the third book in the Hunger Games to see what happens to Peeta! LOL! The movie was very fun. I enjoyed it and they did a good job keeping the violence in but blurring it so it wasn't as horrific to the audience. They, of course, changed some things (and a few, especially Rue's District's specialty, that makes me wonder why) but not enough to bother my enjoyment of the adaptation. I also liked the actors they cast in the characters parts.
