Welcome!

WELCOME to the Small Book Blog! I am a voracious reader. I love losing myself in books and cannot wait to read myself into my next adventure. It is because of this love for books that I created this blog. I want to share my passion of books with you! I hope you enjoy my recommendations and reviews. My goal is that they will lead you to a new book, series or author, that you can fall in love with and recommend to others as well.

Recommendations

"A room without books is like a body without a soul."
-Cicero

I have rooms slowly filling with books in my house-all kinds of books from text books to fiction of all genres. I am definitely not a one genre woman. I love having a real book in my hands, although I have switched over to eBooks in 2012- just here and there, I still love holding a real novel (especially for soaking in the tub). I really appreciate how much more variety I have added into my reading with the world of e-books. They also save space, are easier to hide how many books I may have purchased and I can read them in the dark! (The things we appreciate when we are up during the night with kiddos.) I have tried out new authors (upon their request and from my sleuthing for a new favorite book/author to read) from free downloads, review requests, ARC's and Net Galley.

Friends, family, and co-workers ask what they should read next, do I have any suggestions, or can I just pick something out of my library for them. I usually do and so far have a good track record with my picks. I recently joined a book club and the pressure of choosing JUST ONE BOOK for everyone to read... the anxiety is mounting trying to figure out the perfect choice.

Feel free to drop in and read my blog for ideas. Comment or email me if you don't see what you are looking for. I would love to share ideas with you! You can find me on Instagram posting about the world of books as well under @smallbookblog. I can't wait to meet you!

  1. Hey there,

I recently came across a new writer. He's completely new to the scene and published his book independently on Amazon. I know it's a long shot, but I think it has a chance to be a great kid's book. It is set in Chicago and the main character is Arthur King. (Ha, get it?). It's a modern day view of King Arthur. It has traditional elements of the story, but with contemporary elements. As I said before, it could be a really great novel for kids.
